TRAVEL

Bergen Airport (BGO)

The Bergen Airport at Flesland, 30 minutes south of the city centre, offers several non-stop flights to destinations within Norway and Europe. The major transfer cities for international travel are Oslo, Copenhagen and Amsterdam.

Directions from Airport

  • Light Rail (Bybanan)
The Bybanen costs only 37 kroner (NOK) for a one-way ticket, and is a comfortable and safe 45 minute ride from the airport to the city center. It leaves from right outside the arrivals terminal, every ten minutes and more often during rush hour periods. You need to purchase your ticket before embarking; there are automatic ticket machines on the platform that require a credit card.

  • Airport Bus (Flybuss)
The Flybuss costs 115 kroner (NOK) for a one-way ticket, and takes 25 minutes with typical traffic conditions to the city center. It leaves every 15 minutes from outside the arrivals terminal. The closest stop to the conference hotels and Grieg Hall is Olav Kyrres gate (pronounced Oolav Sheer-ess ga-tay). You can buy your ticket at the automatic ticket machines at the bus stop with a credit card or purchase your ticket with credit card or Norwegian cash on the bus (with a 35 kroner surcharge).

  • Taxi
You can take a taxi between the airport and city center. Expect it to cost no less than 450-550 kroner (NOK) – this is not a guaranteed price, but our estimate based on experience.
