ISSOTL conferences convene faculty members, staff, and students from across the disciplines and around the world as a community that fosters inquiry and disseminates findings about what improves and articulates post-secondary learning and teaching. This purpose leads to an inherently complex conference culture: participants with diverse backgrounds and common goals.
This year's theme reflects Calgary’s high elevation of 1,049 meters and the nearby Canadian Rocky Mountains peaking at 3,747 meters, dramatically shaping the city's western skyline. This theme will inspire new ideas, hope, and future-oriented thinking in the scholarship of teaching and learning. See the full Call for Proposals.
The conference will take place from October 11 through 14, 2017. For information about hotels, the airport, and the conference venue, click "Logistics" above.
If one theme stood out during the 2017 conference, is was the idea of “community.” However you identify with SoTL, the discipline’s mission and philosophy encourages community interaction, collaboration, and the exchanging of ideas.
